Richard Bellemo and the RB Landscapes team were excited at the opportunity to design an Outdoor Kitchen Classroom to complement the future landscape of the school. RB Landscapes has recently finished our proposal for Caulfield Grammar to construct a sustainability learning precinct at their Yarra Junction campus.
The proposal is to create an area where students can learn and put into practice all the processes involved in living a completely self-sufficient lifestyle, requiring no external entities or resources to prosper. Practices such as permaculture, aquaponics, water recycling/management and renewable power are all concepts we have employed in the design of the precinct. The actual construction of the precinct will be completed primarily using reclaimed, recycled and alternative materials.
The Landscape Australia Expo recently invited Richard Bellemo to speak at their inaugural 2011 Designer’s Breakfast. Held at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre on 1st of September, the two hour breakfast event was established as a private networking function and seminar for landscape designers and architects to meet together and learn from fellow innovators in their industry.
The RB team have been spending any spare time they get setting up their new office in Kalorama on Mt. Dandenong. So far they have custom built benches and a table from a fallen red cedar they found in Hawthorne as well as building and testing out their own design for a customizable green wall system! Next they plan to develop a rainwater garden and sculptural show piece!
